  2.  
  3. I WOULD be ignorant as the dawn
  4. That has looked down
  5. On that old queen measuring a town
  6. With the pin of a brooch,
  7. Or on the withered men that saw
  8. From their pedantic Babylon
  9. The careless planets in their courses,
  10. The stars fade out where the moon comes.
  11. And took their tablets and did sums;
  12. I would be ignorant as the dawn
  13. That merely stood, rocking the glittering coach
  14. Above the cloudy shoulders of the horses;
  15. I would be -- for no knowledge is worth a straw --
  16. Ignorant and wanton as the dawn.
